Mayer Brown partners Dominique Shelton Leipzig and David Simon named to Cybersecurity Docket’s 2022 “Incident Response 40”

Mayer Brown announced that Cybersecurity & Data Privacy partners Dominique Shelton Leipzig (Los Angeles) and David Simon (Washington DC) have been selected to Cybersecurity Docket’s 2022 “Incident Response 40,” a list recognizing 40 of the “best and brightest Incident Response legal and compliance professionals in the industry,” according to the publication.

 

Ms. Shelton Leipzig is the leader of the firm’s Global Data Innovation and Ad Tech Privacy & Data Management practices. She has more than 30 years of experience helping clients navigate the evolving legal compliance issues related to privacy and data security for their digital data initiatives. She provides strategic privacy and cyber-preparedness compliance advice, and defends, counsels and represents companies on privacy, global data security compliance, data breaches and investigations.

 

Mr. Simon, a leading partner in the firm’s global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice, has deep experience advising victims of ransomware attacks and state-sponsored cyber activity, as well as extensive experience engaging with law enforcement, cyber, and other national security government authorities globally. A former Pentagon special counsel and chief cyber counsel of the US Cyberspace Solarium Commission, Mr. Simon regularly guides management teams and boards of directors as the lead investigator and crisis manager for cross-border cyber incidents, involving ransomware and other extortion, supply chains, data breaches involving personal data, nation-state threats targeting intellectual property, state-sponsored theft of sensitive US government information, and destructive attacks. He has counseled companies on major cyber incidents and incident preparedness across virtually every sector of the economy. Additionally, over recent years, Mr. Simon has become a trusted cyber advisor and go-to cyber incident counsel for leading global private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, stepping in to serve as incident commander and cyber counsel when portfolio companies around the world face ransomware or other disruptive cyber attacks.
