Mayer Brown lawyers Gabriela Sakamoto and Rebecca Seidl named to Latinvex’s list of Latin America's Top 100 Female Lawyers

Mayer Brown announced that Banking & Finance partner Gabriela Sakamoto (Washington DC) and Corporate & Securities counsel Rebecca Seidl (Houston) were named to Latinvex’s eighth annual list of “Latin America’s Top 100 Female Lawyers.” The ranking highlights top women lawyers specializing in Latin America among international law firms.

A member of Mayer Brown’s Latin America & Caribbean and Global Projects groups, Ms. Sakamoto focuses her practice on advising commercial banks, multilateral agencies and other financial institutions on cross-border project finance, structured finance, capital markets and acquisition financing transactions. Her extensive experience in Latin American matters includes transactions in more than 10 countries in the region and across a wide range of sectors, including financial services and institutions, energy and infrastructure.

Ms. Seidl, a member of Mayer Brown’s Global Oil & Gas group, focuses on advising global energy companies, specifically those operating in the United States and Latin America. She has a broad transactional practice, with specialized experience representing clients in M&A and strategic investments across the energy sector. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Seidl served as senior in-house counsel at BHP, residing in Santiago, Chile during her tenure, overseeing legal support for major infrastructure projects in the Americas.

Lawyers were selected based on a combination of factors, including major deals and other matters, the prominence of their law firms in Latin America, and rankings, and recognition from third parties such as Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 and M&A data from Refinitiv.
