German insolvency law enables the insolvency administrator or, in the case of self-administration, the insolvency trustee, to increase the assets available to satisfy creditors through a large number of challenge rights. This is intended to reverse shifts in assets that were made in the pre-insolvency phase to the detriment of individual or all creditors.
