Mining Seminar (London)

This short afternoon seminar will cover topical issues facing the mining sector. Members of our mining team will discuss trends in capital raising in the sector, as well as mining in Francophone Africa. Our guest speaker Cindy Cahill from Deloitte, will be discussing how green is the new Gold. The seminar is aimed at senior executives in mining companies, bankers, in-house counsel and others involved in the mining industry.

Mining and the equity capital markets - changes to London's full listing regime (Rob Hamill, Corporate Finance Partner)

Rob Hamill, an experienced capital markets Partner in Mayer Brown's London office, will discuss the change to the Listing Rules which splits the existing listing regime into two new tiers, Premium and Standard Listing. He will discuss the implications of this for companies and investors in the industry.

Developing and financing mines Francophone Africa (Matthieu de Varax)

Matthieu de Varax, a Partner from Mayer Brown's Paris office, gives a legal perspective on the main challenges to working in Francophone Africa. He will look at the legal framework in the region and discuss mining licensing, debt financing and the construction of projects, drawing on the expertise he has of advising on projects in Mauritania, Burkina Faso and other countries.

Green is the new Gold (Cindy Cahill)

Cindy Cahill, Partner, Climate Change and Sustainability at Deloitte will give an overview of developments in sustainability and how to capture value in the emerging low carbon economy.
