International Price Discrimination II: Looking East to Asia

International Price Discrimination II: Looking East to Asia

Wednesday, January 14, 2009
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. EST

With more companies doing business today globally, and price discrimination law expanding together with other antitrust laws in emerging economies, it is more important than ever to understand price discrimination laws that may apply outside the U.S.

This 90-minute program follows-up on the ABA'sÿFebruary 2008 program regarding price discrimination in Europe and Latin America with a review of price discrimination law in four major Asian jurisdictions: China, India, Japan and Korea.

Practitioners from each of these jurisdictions will describe the key attributes of price discrimination regulations under their antitrust laws, including the new antitrust laws recently enacted in China and India, and the role of dominance principles in limiting price discrimination under these laws. This will be an excellent opportunity for both U.S. and non-U.S. lawyers to gain a better understanding of how these emerging laws may affect their clients.

Mayer Brown Partner Scott Perlman is the program moderator for this event.

Hosted by:
The American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law and the ABA Center for Continuing Legal Education
