Emerging Challenges Facing US Accounting Firms – New York

The legal, regulatory and political environment facing accounting firms in the United States remains in flux. Courts issued a number of significant rulings in 2010, with new cases and regulatory developments already in the pipeline for 2011. The banking crisis grew in intensity, threatening the firms with new and potentially significant exposures. On top of all this, Congress enacted the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, an historic piece of legislation that mandates a host of rule-making proceedings of substantial interest to the firms.
