Location: New York City
Mayer Brown attorney, Richard J. Morvillo, spoke on a panel with Reid Muoio (Assistant Director of SEC's Division of Enforcement, who is overseeing the SEC working group on subprime) and the Deputy Attorney General of Ohio. The panel focused on market participants, such as publicly held mortgage originators, Wall Street firms who sold CDO's, investment advisors, hedge funds, and rating agencies and various possible issues the SEC, DOJ and States may investigate. The panel also discussed lessons learned from cases that have already been filed and the likely focus going forward on how products were sold and how they were priced by sellers and the owners.
