Brazil: Infrastructure's Next Big Thing

Mayer Brown's next infrastructure roundtable will be Thursday, October 28 and will feature partners from Mayer Brown's Brazil Office and from our association firm in Brazil, Tauil & Chequer. Our panel of partners will answer questions about:

  • The PPP experience in Brazil to date in the transportation and energy areas
  • What prior projects tell us about the process of dealing with Brazilian government entities
  • What tax issues are presented for foreign operators and investors in Brazilian projects
  • Whether or not financing of Brazilian projects raise particular problems or take special forms
  • The type PPP projects are we likely to see next-privatized airports, new power plants, port leases, road concessions
  • How will the presidential election and other political developments affect infrastructure activity in the country
