American Intellectual Property Law Association 2012 Mid-Winter Institute

The 2012 AIPLA Mid-Winter Institute will include, speakers from the bench, the US Patent & Trademark Office, in-house legal departments and law firms will address the economic, management and legal challenges that they are facing. The Institute kicks off with a panel discussion of in-house counsel and their outside counsel on how they work together to achieve satisfactory business and legal outcomes. In addition to the work-life balance issues discussed above, our panels will address, business relationships with NPEs, developments in Federal Circuit common law, conflict of interest law, hot topics in trademark and copyright law, and civility in the profession. The Institute concludes with a panel of Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit judges addressing how they approach decision-making and consensus-building in their courts.
