Overview
Elliott Schreffler is an associate in Mayer Brown's New York office and a member of the Corporate & Securities Group and Global Insurance Industry Group. Elliott focuses his practice on insurance transactional and insurance regulatory matters. Elliott’s transactional experience includes insurance company and insurance agency mergers and acquisitions, reinsurance transactions, pension risk transfer transactions, and other restructuring arrangements. Elliott also works with clients on a broad array of insurance regulatory matters, both in the admitted and non-admitted/surplus lines market, including formation and licensing of insurance entities, drafting and negotiating producer, administrator, and other commercial insurance agreements, advising on insurance carrier “fronting” arrangements, NAIC International Insurers Department Quarterly Listing of surplus lines insurers, addressing rebating/commission sharing issues, and handling many other insurance regulatory matters faced by insurance industry participants.
Elliott is also engaged in a number of Mayer Brown firm initiatives, including contributing his insurance experience to the firm’s Digital Assets/Cryptocurrency initiatives.
While in law school Elliott was the Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the Rutgers Law Review, and was a member of the Children’s Justice Clinic, where he obtained successful results for the juvenile clients he represented.
Elliott’s pro bono experience includes advising and assisting New York and Pennsylvania non-profit corporations.
