Mayer Brown wins "Outstanding Pro Bono Program – International" award from Chambers and Partners

Mayer Brown announced that the firm has won the "Private Practice Outstanding Pro Bono Program – International" award at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: Asia Pacific 2020.

The firm's Employment and Benefits partner, Hong Tran, also received the  “Highly Commended” recognition in the Private Practice Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year category.

"We are very pleased to be recognized for our pro bono program," said Menachem Hasofer, a Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner and co-chair of Mayer Brown's Asia Pro Bono Committee. "Mayer Brown has been providing pro bono legal services to non-profit organizations that serve the community and the underprivileged for many years. Our pro bono output has increased in depth and breadth, significantly assisting the community in need."

The firm has launched wide-ranging pro bono initiatives, benefitting children, teen mothers, refugees and the environment, among others, in 2019. Compared to the previous year, the number of lawyers who were involved in pro bono increased by more than 50 percent in 2019.

Mayer Brown also won several awards, including the 2019 Gold Law Firm Award from The Law Society of Hong Kong for its dedication to pro bono work and community service, and the 2019 Asian Pro Bono Initiative of the Year Award from  Asia Legal Awards.

The Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards celebrate in-house legal teams and law firms who are furthering the advancement of diversity and inclusion, as well as recognizing role models and trailblazers in pro bono and corporate social responsibility.
