London — Mayer Brown won two honours at this year's HR in Law Awards.

Mayer Brown received the Outstanding Employee Engagement award for the delivery and execution of the firm's first global engagement survey. The judges, comprising a panel of experts from HR and law, commended the global nature of the engagement survey and the firm's determination to implement change based on the findings.

In addition, the firm's flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative – Employment Academy – delivered in partnership with refugee charity Breaking Barriers, was named Best CSR Initiative. The programme provides work placements, skills training, coaching and a range of additional support services to help refugees in London find meaningful employment. The judges were impressed by the firm's leadership and the strong partnership that it has formed with Breaking Barriers to provide targeted skills and employment focused support.

The awards, held in London on 3 May, recognise the very best people achievements across the industry in the UK.
