Erica P. John Fund & Beyond: The Past, Present, and Future of Securities Class Actions

Join the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for a symposium on Friday, February 28 to discuss the U.S. Supreme Court's historic securities litigation case, Halliburton v. Erica P. John Fund, as well as the past, present, and future of securities class actions.

This event is timed to precede oral arguments in Erica P. John Fund, to be held March 5. The Erica P. John Fund case brings to the fore important debates about whether private securities class actions are necessary to protect investors from fraud, or whether securities class actions impose tremendous costs on the economy with little to no benefit for most investors.

Panelists and keynote speaker, former SEC Commissioner Troy Paredes will discuss the importance of investor protections, effective securities regulation, and policing fraud.

Registration will open at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch and the event program from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Event fees are $35 for Chamber Members, and $45 for non-Chamber members. Federal Government Employees receive complimentary registration.*
