Federal and state election authorities have increased campaign contribution limits for the 2017–2018 election cycles in the United States. While there will be no presidential election in the upcoming cycle, voters will elect US senators in 33 states and US representatives in all 435 districts. Voters will also elect governors in 38 states and countless other state and local officials across the country. This Legal Update discusses the increases in federal and state limits for the most common types of contributions for these elections.
