Spring 2015 will see what the Government has described as “the most fundamental change to the way people access their pension savings in almost a century”. A range of new flexibilities will be introduced for DC benefits, as well as related changes to statutory transfer rights for all benefit types, and new requirements for DB transfers.

In addition, new statutory minimum governance standards and charging restrictions will be introduced for DC schemes, and changes have been made to key aspects of the PPF levy rules for the 2015/16 levy year.

Lastly, a range of other miscellaneous changes will be introduced, including clarification of aspects of the annual allowance regime, introduction of “shared parental leave”, and simplification of the automatic enrolment regime.

There are a number of different pieces of legislation setting out these changes, and some have only recently been finalised in full. We have therefore put together guidance notes which summarise the key points from the various pieces of legislation and regulatory guidance for each of these five areas.
