Mayer Brown associate Greg Conroy was honored by the Pro Bono Partnership as one of its four Volunteers of the Year.  The award recognizes volunteers whose dedication rises well above the ordinary, distinguished by the complexity or transformative nature of the pro bono project, the extraordinary responsiveness of the volunteer, and/or the time committed to pro bono service through the Partnership. Greg was honored for his representation of Neighbors Link, an organization that provides integration services to the immigrant community and helps longer term residents better understand the immigrant experience.

Greg, and Corporate Partner Tom Vitale helped develop a legal structure that Neighbors Link could use to create service centers throughout the metropolitan area in partnership with local charitable organizations. This complex project, which took more than one and a half years to conclude, involved the formation of an umbrella organization to support the work of current and future affiliates. Thanks to their work, by early 2011 a structure was in place for operations of Neighbors Link Network and in June 2011, Neighbors Link launched its second service center in Stamford, CT, in cooperation with the Stamford Partnership.
