Can a foreigner's family (e.g. spouse, children) accompany him/her during the period of his/her work in the PRC?
Yes, as long as the relevant family member enters the PRC with a valid passport and visa, and obtains a residence permit from the local public security bureau within 30 days of entering the PRC.
Must the foreigner's family obtain a "Z" visa in order to accompany him/her during his/her work in the PRC?

Is there any special document required for applying to have a family member accompany the foreigner during the period of his/her work in the PRC?
Yes. The marriage certificate and/or birth certificate must be provided so as to prove the relationship between the foreigner and the relevant family member.
Can the foreigner's family be employed in the PRC when accompanying the foreigner during the period of his/her work in the PRC?
No, unless the foreigner's family has completed the relevant application procedures and obtained his/her work permit and work certificate from the local labour bureau. The foreigner's family must also update his/her residence permit with the local public security bureau.
