On 22 June 2009, the Supreme Court issued a decision on Coeur Alaska v. Southeast Alaska Conservation Council. The question presented in the case was whether the Army Corps of Engineers (“ACE”) improperly issued a permit for dumping dredge or fill dirt into waterways, without satisfying the pollution restrictions enforced by the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”).
