This three-day, in-person event combines two of Northwestern University's nationally recognized institutes: the Ray Garrett Jr. Corporate & Securities Law Institute and the Corporate Counsel Institute.
This event will feature topics in corporate and securities law, including M&A, corporate governance, and SEC updates. In addition, the program will include ESG sessions discussing regulatory developments and mock exercises navigating issues in data breach. This programming is relevant for both in-house and firm professionals.
Jennifer Carlson, a partner in Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities practice, will participate in the "Public Company Challenges: A Year in the Life" session at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21. Panelists will discuss:
- Challenges in oversight and disclosure for new and proposed SEC rules
- Executive compensation in uncertain and volatile times, including proposed pay-for-performance rules and clawback standards
- Best practices for counsel to provide guidance to the board and executive leadership
