On Thursday, 28 November, Hong Kong Partner Gabriela Kennedy presented “Updates on the PRC Cybersecurity Law” at the Mayer Brown Shanghai Chemicals Round table.
Gabriela provided an in-depth update on new cybersecurity regulations , including the multi-level protection scheme and recent enforcement of the law as well as updates on cross-border data transfers and data privacy regulation. Gabriela also provided an overview of the Draft Measures for Data Security Management, Draft Measures on Security Assessment of the Cross-border Transfer of Personal Information, Personal Information Security Specification, Regulation on the Protection of Children’s Personal Information Online and Draft Basic Specification for Collecting Personal Information in Mobile Internet Applications. Her presentation was wrapped up by some practical tips and an interactive Q&A session.
