Amita Haylock was invited to speak and moderate a panel titled “Fighting Counterfeits: A Community Approach” at the International Trademark Association (INTA) Asia Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference, which took place on 17-18 October 2019, brought together leading legal and business experts and government officials to discuss key issues affecting brands doing business in the region today. Amita and her co-panellists discussed creative solutions and best practices for businesses to combat online counterfeiting, including collaborative approaches to enforcement, and the roles of customs, courts, regulatory authorities, brand owners, marketplaces, payment providers, and other intermediaries in the fight against counterfeits. Amita was on the Project Team for this conference, and was involved in planning and organising the event.
