The Institute of International Banking Law & Practice returns to New York this fall for our two flagship trade finance events, the Standby & Guarantee Forum and the Letter of Credit Seminar. These two events attract skilled practitioners from across the Americas and other parts of the world, and the events’ delegates are experienced managers for major banks and corporations, in addition to prominent attorneys. Panels at this year’s events will feature the leading figures in the trade finance world.
Being held on October 31, the Standby & Guarantee Forum focuses on this ever growing and profitable aspect of the business. With a panel of leading local, regional, and international experts, this one day event addresses trends, and focuses on practical issues faced by today's practitioner of standby letters of credit.
With a dynamic program and interactive format, this event promises high level discussion with top names in the field. Time tested over two decades, this event features a proven mix of learning, networking, and discussion. Topics will include issues in drafting standbys and demand guarantees, interpretation of terms in standbys and guarantees, issues in presentation and compliance, legal interpretations from recent cases, and much more.
This event is held in conjunction with the Letter of Credit Law Summit, which takes place the following day. Many registrants opt to attend both events in order to make the most of the time off work.
The Letter of Credit Law Summit will gather the top legal minds in the field from around the US and abroad to discuss court cases and legal issues impacting LC practice, and trade finance at large.
This session is ideal for lawyers working for firms or banks, as well as bankers and corporate LC users with an active interest in banking law and a desire to further their knowledge of how legal issues are impacting LC practice today. Law firms which are serious about trade finance matters and banks with significant LC portfolios will want to be represented for this full-day program.
