You are invited to join Mayer Brown’s Global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team, as well as prominent cybersecurity and data privacy specialists, for our one-day Summit addressing the constantly changing global landscape of cybersecurity and data privacy law and the impact on corporations. The Summit will take place on Tuesday, October 22, at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, CA.

Mayer Brown’s Summit is geared toward a sophisticated audience of in-house counsel and chief privacy and information officers managing cybersecurity and data privacy issues for their companies. Participants in the Summit will gain invaluable insights through discussions with Mayer Brown lawyers and industry peers and will acquire important takeaways about the latest complex issues facing business and how to best address them.

Our Summit will feature an interactive cross-border cybersecurity incident tabletop exercise in which members of Mayer Brown’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy team, along with representatives from Aon’s Cyber Solutions (formerly Stroz Friedberg) and Sard Verbinnen & Co, will present a fictional cybersecurity breach scenario. Working in collaborative teams facilitated by incident first responders, participants will explore critical legal, forensics and communication issues and gain valuable and important insights to take back to their companies.

We are excited to announce that we will be joined for a special address by the co-author of the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Senate Majority Leader Robert Hertzberg. Senator Hertzberg will discuss the recent developments in California privacy legislation.

Additional confirmed speakers include Brian Brooks, Chief Legal Officer, Coinbase; Doug Kramer, General Counsel, Cloudflare; Valerie Baumer, Assistant Vice President – Senior Legal Counsel, AT&T Services, Inc.; Brian Emeott, Director, Privacy, Lyft; John Greifzu, Associate General Counsel, Frontier Communications; Jocelyn Liu, Senior Attorney, Allstate Insurance Company; Leslie Schafer, Senior Vice President - Senior Legal Counsel, Northern Trust Corporation; Kimberly Udovic, Assistant General Counsel, Toyota Motor North America; as well as Mayer Brown lawyers from Washington DC, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, Chicago, Brussels, London and Rio de Janeiro.

The Summit will also include a series of conversations with general counsel of prominent technology companies at the frontlines of these issues, as well as in-depth panel discussions covering the following:

  • Navigating the CCPA, Federal and State Data Privacy Developments
