On 3 September and 6 September 2019, Mayer Brown hosted the second annual Asia Supply Chain & Working Capital Finance Summits in Hong Kong and Singapore respectively. Speakers included John Marsden (Partner, Finance, Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency ,Hong Kong, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh Offices), Massimo Capretta (Partner, Finance, New York and Chicago Offices), Ashley McDermott (Partner, Finance, London Office) and Charles Thain (Senior Associate, Finance, London office). 

The team kicked off the summits with an introduction of the speakers, followed by the first session titled “True Sale of Receivables – Global Considerations”, during which Massimo and Charles gave global perspectives on true sale and accounting derecognition in the US, the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. The second session “Trends and Developments in Structuring Transactions” consisted of Massimo, Ash and Charles providing a global perspectives on structuring complex lending and receivables transactions, as well as market developments and trends. The third session John providing an overview of enforcement in Supply Chain Finance Transactions with many entertaining lessons learned. Both the Hong Kong and Singapore summits were concluded with a business panel discussion involving some of the most senior Supply Chain Finance bankers in Asia. The session was followed by a lively Q&A from the floor. 

The Hong Kong session was held at our Mayer Brown office while the Singapore session was held at the Fullerton Hotel. Over 150 delegates attended the summits. Both sessions were well-received with positive feedback from the audience.
