Hong Tran gave a seminar to Swire Properties on 29 May 2019, titled ”Legal Updates affecting HR”. The seminar was conducted at the client’s office at One Island East in Quarry Bay and was attended by staff across different departments including delegates who joined via video conference. 

The team kicked off the seminar by providing an updates on recent law in Hong Kong which are related to HR, including the increase in paternity leave and minimum wage rate as well as the landmark QT v Director of Immigration case which opens door for same-sex dependant visa in Hong Kong. The team then shared with the audience some recent cases on employment and discrimination. 

Hong Tran then provided an insights on what issues other similar organisations are facing, such as wage calculation and statutory entitlements, the handling of sick, injured and pregnant employees, data privacy issues as well as some anticipated changes in the pipelines.
