On 6 March 2019, Gabriela Kennedy was invited by the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park Corporation (HKSTPC) to speak about IP issues for start-ups at a programme called “Crafting Luxury Experience”, run by HKSTPC’s Global Acceleration Academy and Moët Hennessy Asia Pacific. Crafting Luxury Experience is a three-month programme to support local and overseas start-ups by providing gap analysis and proof of concept (POC) opportunities. Around 18 start-ups from GAA, an intensive business acceleration programme spearheaded by HKSTPC, heard Gabriela discuss the concepts of IP rights, including trade marks, domain names, patents, designs and copyrights, and share strategies on IP protection, particularly when engaging with corporates and launching a business in the market.
