On February 27, Mayer Brown’s New York office hosted a transactional liability insurance roundtable for members of the transactional liability insurance ecosystem. The seminar was a substantive discussion on the rapidly expanding and evolving US market for transactional liability insurance, with a particular focus on representation and warranty insurance. Our interactive discussion was designed for industry professionals and focused on trends, issues and challenges that underwriters, brokers and other participants in the RWI ecosystem face on a daily basis.

The program included M&A practitioners who regularly represent both underwriters and insureds in underwriting and procuring these insurance products, as well as litigators who are highly experienced in transactional insurance claims. Corporate & Securities partners Beccy Bothamley (London), Joe Castelluccio (NY) and Bill Kucera (Chicago) and Litigation & Dispute Resolution partners Jane Childs (London), Joe De Simone (NY), Bob Harrell (Houston) and counsel Michelle Annunziata (NY) shared insights on key topics in the industry, including substance and process issues in the underwriting process, damages and valuations issues that frequently arise in claims, and developments in the UK market with potential impact on US policies. The Mayer Brown team was also joined by Kevin Pierce, a director in Stout’s forensic accounting practice.
