Gabriela Kennedy moderated a seminar titled “Machine Creativity: Artificial Intelligence and Challenges to Copyright Law”, organised by Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIArb) on 17 January 2019. Hosted in our Mayer Brown office and arranged by senior associate Raymond Yang, approximately 30 members of HKIArb came to hear Gabriela and Professor Jyh-An Lee, an Associate Professor of Law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, discuss the current status of copyright protection of AI-created works. The seminar explored the legal challenges posed by technological advancements and the implications of creating works using AI on copyright law.
