On June 28, Mayer Brown's Middle East practice hosted a civil aviation roundtable discussion in our Washington DC office on Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the Kingdom's flagship initiative centered on establishing a modernized legal and investment framework to boost private-sector activity and attract foreign investment. Corporate & Securities partner Jad Taha (DC) provided opening remarks. US-Saudi Arabian Business Council President and CEO Edward Burton, Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) President H.E. Abdulhakim Al Tamimi and a delegation of Saudi officials from GACA and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) presented on each regulator's initiatives to facilitate foreign investment and modernize and privatize the Kingdom's civil aviation sector. Representatives from multinational companies participated in the discussion.
