Gabriela Kennedy and TL Lim participated in the “Aon Executive Roundtable and Luncheon: Cyber Resilience – Challenges and Opportunities”, held at The Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay on 26 April 2018. The event was well attended by representatives of regional financial institutions including banks, asset management firms, private equity firms, and payment service providers.

Gabriela, Matthew Bartoldus, Co-Founder of Gotham Digital Science, and Kevin Kalinich, the global cyber risk practice leader for Aon Risk Solutions started the event with individual presentations before lunch. After lunch TL Lim and Paul Young CEO of Aon joined them for a panel discussion on the topic “Cyber Resilience – Challenges and Opportunities”, each panelist shared insights into the need for cybersecurity as data becomes a key asset for nearly all major companies. The panelists also discussed how cyber attacks occur and how to prevent cyber attacks and data breaches through pre-emptive measures and insurance. In addition, Gabriela talked about the regulations and penalties put in place by different countries as a way to encourage companies to invest in robust data security systems.

The panel also discussed a case study involving the cyber hack of a payments intermediary.
