In February 2017, the New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) released a final version of its cybersecurity regulation, which mandates cybersecurity standards for any entity licensed or similarly authorized by DFS to operate in New York, including insurance companies, agencies and brokerages, banks, branches and agencies of foreign banks, consumer lenders and money transmitters. The regulation will also impact third party service providers, who provide services to covered entities. Under the regulation, covered entities have until August 28, 2017, to comply with certain parts of the regulation and must certify their compliance to the DFS in February 2018.

Please join Mayer Brown lawyers Larry Hamilton, Stephen Lilley and Jeffrey Taft as they:
