The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act was designed “[t]o promote the financial stability of the United States by improving accountability and transparency in the financial system…” While many debate whether those objectives have been achieved, it is clear that the financial sector has had to contend with an onslaught of new regulatory requirements and a more contentious supervisory environment.
