Gabriela Kennedy was invited to deliver a presentation to representatives of the Intermediaries of the Secretariat of the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (The SIE Fund) at their quarterly informal exchange, on Friday, 25 September 2015 at the Hong Kong Efficiency Unit’s office in Wanchai.

The SIE Fund, established in 2012, helps to build the capacity of start-up social entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, and through their four Intermediaries (The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, PolyU Technology and Consultancy Company Limited, SOW (Asia) Foundation Ltd, and The Yeh Family Philanthropy Limited), finds and nurtures budding entrepreneurs who seek to innovate by integrating social impact into their businesses. Gabriela explained the basics of Intellectual Property Rights through examples of recent cases that have been making headlines. Gabriela’s presentation prompted active discussion from the floor, with questions asked relating to the use of photographs online and protection of designs.
