The global OTC derivatives markets are still in transition. Regulatory pressure to increase transparency and to reduce risk exposures are both an opportunity and a challenge. In the light of a substantial amount of regulation currently in preparation, it has never been more important to stay ahead of the curve. Please join our international derivatives team for a discussion on the current legal challenges in the OTC derivative markets as seen from a US, English and German law perspective. The seminar will be moderated by our partner Patrick Scholl.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • Update on the Dodd Frank, EMIR and MiFID II implementation, the clearing mandate and extraterritorial recognition. Which regulations are still outstanding and what can already be done today?
  • Collateral requirements for non-cleared OTC derivatives, legal challenges and aspects of implementation. What changes to the legal documentation can be expected?
    — Curtis Doty (New York), Ed Parker (London) and Patrick Scholl (Frankfurt)
  • The new landscape of netting opinions post regulation. Will more opinions be required?
    — Andreas Lange (Frankfurt)
The banking resolution regimes and bail-in, impact on OTC derivatives, securities lending transactions and repos. Are changes to the legal documentation required?
    — Curtis Doty (New York) and Patrick Scholl (Frankfurt)

Please note that the event will be held in English.
Participation is free of charge.
