Seminar
London Calling - China Outbound Investment to Great Britain
Complimentary Seminar
For many years China has been a focus of attention for international investors wishing to enter the vast PRC market. Although inbound investment is likely to remain significant for many years to come, recent years have seen a steady rise in the level of Chinese outbound investment to the rest of the world. This has largely concerned energy and natural resources, although recently the nature of Chinese investment overseas has begun to broaden.
This trend is set to continue and Chinese investment and acquisitions in the manufacturing, real estate and technology sectors (among others) is likely to accelerate. New regulations introduced last year and a clear government strategy for Chinese companies to increasingly 'go global' will give new opportunities for Chinese companies and their foreign business partners.
For many years Great Britain has been a major participant in world trade and London remains a global financial centre. London is also a key centre for the insurance sector and is an important business hub in which most of the world's major international companies have a presence. The London property market remains very active and attractive to international investors. As the effects of the global economic downturn give way to growth, there are likely to be new opportunities for Chinese investors.
You are cordially invited to join us in a seminar jointly organised by Mayer Brown and CB Richard Ellis to discuss the UK investment environment and the opportunities that are likely to become available during the course of 2010 and beyond.
