Employment Winter Seminar
Thursday 3 December 2009

Join us on 3 December 2009 for a glass of mulled wine, a mince pie or two and a look at some recent key developments in employment law.

We will be focusing on the difficult issues facing employers in relation to long term sickness and holiday, following two very recent European cases. We will look at questions such as:
  • Does holiday still accrue when an employee is off sick?
  • If an employee falls ill during a holiday, can they defer the "lost" holiday entitlement?
  • What changes to your contracts and staff handbooks could/should you be making?
We will be joined by members from our other European Employment Groups, who will give a perspective on how these issues affect employees in other parts of Europe.

Finally, our Pensions Group will be highlighting the pensions implications of the 2009 budget. In particular, the impact on executive pension provision generally, and what you need to bear in mind when drafting employment contracts or termination arrangements.

And if you need any further incentive to join us, there will also be a Christmas quiz . . . with prizes!
