Online Gambling & Data Protection Workshop
Wednesday 14 October 2009
Programme
World Online Gambling Law Report is organising the second Online Gambling & Data Protection Workshop focusing on data breaches, platform migration, cross-border data transfers and data security.
This half-day workshop will be held in the London offices of Mayer Brown on Wednesday 14 October 2009.
Gambling Operators are obliged to share customer data with a variety of institutions ranging from regulators and enforcement agencies to third party outsourcing companies.
The data is often transferred across a variety of jurisdictions and operators have to comply with the EU's Data Protection Directive and the EU Member States' gambling laws.
In order to avoid non compliance with the law and transfer the data safely it is vital to be aware of the regulatory pitfalls. Operators should also insure that they have up to date systems in place to avoid data breaches and data loss. Such a loss may have severe negative consequence on both the reputation and financial position of an operator and its stakeholders.
This workshop will provide a half-day of incisive, authoritative and comprehensive data protection regulatory analysis and compliance guidance in order to help you avoid the pitfalls associated with data transfers and data breaches.
Subjects covered will include:
Registration: 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Workshop: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Followed by lunch
Location (View Map)
Mayer Brown International LLP, 201 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 3AF
