Outsourcing: Pitfalls to avoid in the current climate

In these very challenging economic times, businesses in the insurance sector are increasingly focusing on costs management. As a consequence of this, the issue of outsourcing has moved up the corporate agenda - management are evaluating how more value and costs-savings can be driven out of existing arrangements and what savings and efficiencies can be achieved by entering into new arrangements.
On 10 March 2009, Mayer Brown's Insurance Industry Group will be hosting a seminar that will consider some of the key issues to bear in mind in connection with outsourcing, in particular in circumstances where a provider may be in some financial difficulty itself.
Our speakers will include Martin Mankabady and Mark Prinsley and we will be joined by an industry guest speaker. There will also be an opportunity for an interactive panel discussion in which questions can be asked of the panel.
Some of the key areas to be covered will include:
- ensuring compliance with FSA regulatory requirements
- monitoring, and dealing with failure to meet, service levels
- flexibility of arrangements
- implementing dispute resolution mechanisms
