Employment Update 2009: A Review of the Key Developments in UK Employment Law
Monday 23 March 2009
Registration: 3:15 p.m.
Programme: 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Drinks and canapés: 5:30 p.m.
Please join us for our annual review of what were the key developments in employment law and HR practice over the last year and our look ahead to what is coming up over the next year.
As always, our focus will be on the changes that actually matter; the ones you need to know about for your business. We will be discussing in particular what is undoubtedly the most significant item this year: the abolition of the statutory dismissal and grievance procedures which takes effect on 6 April. Will the new regime be better or worse than before? How will it change what you have to do in practice?
We will be monitoring developments right up to the seminar date and so the programme may change but, currently, other areas to be covered will include:
- Long term sickness and holiday
- Age discrimination in redundancy programmes
- Enforcing post termination restrictions
- The new agency workers law
- Benefits during maternity leave
A Q&A panel session at the end of the seminar will allow you the chance to ask questions about issues facing your business at the moment.
