In today's troubled economy, the risk of reprisal by dismissed workers claiming retaliation due to whistleblower allegations is greatly increased. The impact of Section 806 of the Corporate and Criminal Fraud Accountability Act, commonly referred to as the SOX whistleblower provisions, has been seen throughout the country as a number of these suits have been filed against public companies.
Patrick Tagtow Vice President - Litigation at BMC Software, Inc.; Marcia Goodman, partner in Mayer Brown's Chicago officee, will discuss recent developments in whistleblower litigation and what we can expect to see as the economic climate worsens and with the change in the administration. The webinar will focus on:
- Resolving claims with SOX whistleblower claimants
- Trends emerging in SOX decisions and implications for the future
- Practical suggestions for handling and responding to whistleblower complaints
- What to expect at trial
