Maurício Veiga is an associate of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown and a member of the Corporate & Securities, Mergers & Acquisitions, Infrastructure Investment and Technology and Emerging Companies practices.
Maurício has experience supporting clients in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and other cooperative ventures involving international and Brazilian companies, as well as has supported clients in legal due diligence processes.
Maurício also helps emerging companies grow smartly. He works as outside general counsel with founders on company formation and ongoing corporate governance throughout the client’s lifecycle. Maurício advises on transactions, including venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic corporate relationships and commercial agreements on a wide range of technology-related matters. He also works with incubators and accelerators working with startups and venture capital funds.
Before joining Mayer Brown in 2019, Maurício spent several years as a corporate and M&A associate at other prominent law firms based in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil. Maurício received his Bachelor of Law (JD equivalent) from the Getulio Vargas Foundation School of Law (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and he received a Master of Science (MSc) in Decision Analysis from the Minerva Schools at Keck Graduate Institute (San Francisco, USA).
