Raffi Garnighian is an associate in Mayer Brown's New York office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. His practice focuses on securities and corporate finance transactions.
Raffi advises issuers, investment banks, sponsors and investors in connection with public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, investment grade debt offerings, at-the-market and medium term note programs and other capital market transactions. Additionally, Raffi assists financial companies with ongoing securities law compliance requirements and general corporate governance matters.
Raffi earned his JD with honors from The George Washington University Law School. He was a member of the International Law Review and Vice President of the Entrepreneurship and Law Society. Raffi graduated from Duke University with a BS in economics. While at Duke, Raffi was awarded the Melissa & Doug Entrepreneurship Fellowship for launching his own startup.
Raffi is also an inventor and two-time startup founder. He holds a patent for his product “Pinion Pins” (US Patent No. 10,136,704) and multiple Trademarks. Raffi was a finalist in the “Pitch George” competition, a finalist for the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Global Competition East Coast Division, and a semi-finalist in the GW New Venture Competition. Raffi regularly judges the Duke Startup Challenge and has previously served as a mentor for several finalists.
