Ebrahim is a South African qualified lawyer in the Corporate & Securities practice of the London office. He joined Mayer Brown in 2021. He is experienced in public (listed/equity capital markets) and private mergers and acquisitions. In addition to his general commercial law experience, Ebrahim has advised several non-governmental organisations (including an Ivy League university) on a pro bono basis and has previous experience litigating South African family law matters on a pro bono basis. 


  • Advising Allied Electronics Corporation Limited (Altron), a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, on the disposal of its major United Kingdom subsidiary, Bytes Technology Limited, to Bytes Technology Group plc (Bytes plc) and the subsequent unbundling of the disposal consideration to Altron's shareholders. Thereafter, advising Bytes plc on its £647 million listing on the London Stock Exchange with a secondary inward listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (Winner of the South African Dealmakers Deal of the Year 2020)*
  • Advising Apollo Global Management on its £152 million acquisition and subsequent de-listing of Atlantic Leaf Properties Limited, a Jersey incorporated public company dual-listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.*
  • Advising Remgro Limited on the ZAR28 billion unbundling of its 28.2% shareholding in RMB Holdings Limited.*
  • Advising Brait SE, a public company dual-listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, on its fully underwritten renounceable rights offer to raise ZAR5.25 billion.*
  • Advising Barloworld Limited on its ZAR5.35 billion acquisition of the Tongaat Hulett Starch Division of Tongaat Hulett Limited (Nominated for the Dealmakers Deal of the Year 2020)*
  • Advising Fortress REIT Limited, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, on the ZAR4 billion restructuring of its Black Economic Empowerment scheme with the Siyakha Education Trusts.*
