Overview

Sarah Shaw is counsel in Mayer Brown's Chicago office and a member of the Real Estate Markets practice. Sarah has a national practice that involves a broad range of real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, construction, leasing and financing. Sarah routinely represents private equity firms and REITs in asset and equity transactions, with a special concentration in multi-site transactions. Projects include retail, office, multi-family, healthcare and industrial properties at varying stages of development and stabilization. She also represents lenders in financing facilities that are secured by real property assets.

Sarah’s experience as an associate counsel at a national real estate investment trust provided extensive experience with retail properties. The experience of working in-house honed Sarah’s pragmatic and efficient approach to advising clients and closing transactions. Sarah Shaw has been recognized in the area of real estate and finance law by Leading Lawyers Magazine Illinois, 2017-2021 and she has been listed among The Best Lawyers In America (2021-2022), in the area of real estate law.
