Luca Salernitano is an associate in the International Trade and Government Relations & Public Law practices of the Brussels office.
He advises companies and trade associations on a wide range of EU and national regulatory issues concerning pharmaceutical products, medical devices, cosmetics and foodstuffs. He also provide legal assistance in matters related and chemicals.
He has been a speaker at the congress held in Milan in 2016 on "La comunicazione sugli integratori alimentari: regole, opportunità, minacce e crisis management" (i.e. "Food supplements: rules, opportunities, threats and crisis management") hosted by FederSalus (“National manufacturers and distributors association for health products”) and the Italian Antitrust Authority.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2018, Luca worked in an leading international firm and, subsequently, in a boutique law office in Italy, focusing on the Life Sciences sector. In addition to advising companies on regulatory issues, he has been involved in litigation cases relating to price, reimbursement and classification of medicinal products, patents, use of biosimilars, orphan drug designation, traditional herbal medicinal products, measures of containment of the economic expenditure for medicinal products, infringements of EMA and national guidelines, substances allowed in food supplements and food claims, etc.
In addition to his native Italian, Luca is fluent in English.
