Overview

Kelyn Smith is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Washington DC office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. His practice encompasses a wide range of complex litigation in federal and state courts, including contract disputes, governmental investigations, ERISA and antitrust class action defense. Kelyn also advises clients on various commercial disputes and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Kelyn was an associate at another Am Law 100 firm where he represented clients in products liability, medical device and pharmaceutical litigation. He previously served as an extern to the Hon. Marvin E. Aspen of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Kelyn graduated cum laude from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, where he worked as a student clinical attorney within the Center for Capital Defense and Children and Family Justice Center. Kelyn is passionate about criminal justice, and maintains an active pro bono practice focused on criminal defense and post-conviction relief. He is a member of Northwestern Law’s Clinic Advisory Board.
