Overview

Corporate, sovereign, and non-profit clients with business before the United States' Congressional and Executive Branches benefit from John Merrigan's more than 50 years of experience representing clients on a wide variety of public policy, administrative, and legal matters, including:

  • Congressional/government investigations;
  • Antitrust policy, administrative reviews, and litigation;

  • National security (e.g., CFIUS; cybersecurity);

John has an extensive track record representing clients in congressional and related investigations and formulating and executing successful strategies to advance or protect clients’ interests. Previously, he served as co-chair of a major international law firm's Federal Law and Policy practice and for many years on that firm’s Policy Committee, building and managing the firm’s practice and counseling Fortune 100 corporations, domestic and foreign governments and other clients.

Additionally, John served, by appointment of President Clinton, as Chair of the Democratic National Committee’s Democratic Business Council, chaired the Mid-Atlantic Finance Committee for John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign, and served on the National Finance Committee for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
