Overview

Akemi Kishimoto is an associate in the Singapore office of Mayer Brown's Banking & Finance practice. Akemi is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and an attorney at law in Japan. She divides her time between the Singapore and Tokyo offices. She acts for sponsors and lenders on project developments as well as for investors on acquisitions of equity stakes in project companies.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Akemi worked at another international law firm in Japan. She also has experience in drafting and implementation of international financial regulations at the Financial Services Agency of the Japanese government. She previously completed a secondment to the Bangkok office of a multilateral development bank, where she advised on investment and financing transactions in the Asia-Pacific region. Before becoming a lawyer, Akemi was working in investment banking for a US investment bank. Akemi is a CFA charterholder.
