Anthony Gutierrez is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Los Angeles office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He has experience in a broad range of substantive areas, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and class actions. Anthony has represented benefit plans, plan sponsors, and ERISA fiduciaries in many ERISA-related lawsuits, including benefits claims class actions, excessive fees cases, and actuarial equivalence litigation.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Anthony clerked for The Honorable Edward J. Davila on the US District Court for the Northern District of California. He also previously worked as a litigation associate at another prominent international law firm in Los Angeles.
Anthony received his JD from Stanford Law School and his BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California. In law school, Anthony was an extern at the US Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, Criminal Division. He was also a member of the Stanford Law School Immigrants’ Rights Clinic.
