Overview

Javier Fierro is a partner in Mayer Brown's New York office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. His practice primarily focuses on the structuring, formation and operation of a variety of domestic and offshore private investment funds, which invest in a wide range of asset classes and industries, including infrastructure, private debt, agribusiness, mining and early- and late-stage companies. He has also represented investment funds and other institutional investors in a variety of alternative and cross-border transactions, including primary investments, secondary investments and co-investments.

Javier is fluent in Spanish and has significant experience working with leading local Latin American private equity fund managers in advising and structuring offshore investment vehicles investing in parallel with local vehicles across the Americas. Through these engagements, Javier has gained deep experience advising sponsors with respect to investments made by development finance institutions and other social impact investors, including on matters related to environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).

Javier has been recommended in Private Equity Funds in The Legal 500 2016. Javier has also been named a Rising Legal Star in Latinvex (2018) and recognized by Latin Lawyer (2019).
